Its unfathomable to me, for example, that Kingdom Rebellions and Civil Wars isn't in the game. To be fair, it was a lot worse in 2020, but the rate of improvement has been slow.
MOUNT AND BLADE BANNERLORD REDDIT FULL
The encyclopedia is a great addition, but it shouldn't be chock full of content holes as it seems to be right now. My bigger complaints are about lore related topics, where it is clear they've hinted at adding more information, quests, content, etc regarding specific factions, clans, and individuals in the game but just haven't moved the ball forward on that. Right now, its barebones and that is being generous. My feeling is if you are going to include a story, it should be functional. M&B has never been about the story, even if Viking Conquest and With Fire and Sword saw good attempts at it is a Singleplayer & Multiplayer total conversion of Mount & Blade II Bannerlord, that brings the world of Tolkien into the game. Yeah there is a sandbox mode now I believe, and it allows you to do that. That probably changes once full release is here, however. The modding community is full of complaints and there haven't really been any real overhaul attempts, which were the lifeblood of the M&B Community. There are still things to improve but in general it has been a success The multiplayer seems to work well enough, so good for them on that. On the other hand, the clan system seems to be a real success. The sandbox elements, story elements, and role playing elements are a very poor fit as of now. The basic campaign structure works, at least at the beginning, and then it degenerates very quickly. The lore gaps are just an insult and very much a detraction from what should be a great selling point of the game. The campaign is unfinished to the point of insult. I would love for them to increase that further if possible. Still, the 1000 man battle spectacle is great. Combat speed is a bit of an issue, however, in that it is a bit arcade-ish and that hasn't seen an option to fix that yet. The formation based combat system works, but can be kind of janky still. This isn't how it should be based off of what devs had said their intention is, which is for Horse Archers to have some advantages and some disadvantages, and for combat to work in a rock-paper-scissors type consideration. Combat is for the most part okay, but unbalanced. Its been about 16 months now and here is where they seem to be: Well, if you took that at face value, thats on you, but its not good that we expect them to be wrong all the time. Its a bit worrying because it feels like Development is stagnating.
